Frozen Illex Squid Cube

Frozen Illex Squid Cube
Product Introduction:
We make these for kitchens where a protein has to be on the plate in seconds. Wild-caught Illex argentinus from Argentine waters is cleaned, skinned and trimmed, then diced into uniform cubes on automated lines and IQF-frozen. The frozen illex squid cubes we ship are held in a -18°C cold chain from our line to your kitchen — tender, sweet, and cooked through almost as fast as they hit the pan.
Measured against the Peruvian gigas cubes, these are smaller and more tender, with a natural sweet umami and a very mild aroma. The standout is the cook time: a quick stir-fry or blanch and they're done in seconds, which trims prep time and keeps a fast service pace. Quick stir-fries, kid-friendly seafood dishes and salad toppings are where they earn their place.

The standard size is 2 × 2 × 2 cm. Other dimensions can be discussed according to the customer's recipe or production requirements.

Q3: How should the cubes be thawed?

For regular foodservice handling, slow thawing at approximately 0–4°C is recommended. Depending on the pack size, allow around 6–8 hours.
